Research & Develop

Our mission is to research & develop eco-friendly, natural, and healthy products using innovative technologies.

Revolution Research Inc. (RRI) was formed in 2014 to apply ground-breaking technology to design, develop, and market innovative, bio-based, and eco-friendly materials. RRI’s goal is to become one of the top bio-based product developer in the country in ten years.

The company has received several federal grants from National Science Foundation (NSF), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Maine Technology Institute (MTI) to fund the research project and the commercialization of its products. Revolution Research has won UMaine Business Challenge in 2015, completed Maine Top Gun Accelerated Program and won the first place in competition.

Revolution Research has also been nominated as people’s choice startup company in Greenlight Maine Challenge.

Our Team

Nadir Yildirim, PhD

Co-founder and CEO

Dr. Yildirim earned his Ph.D. in Forest Resources from the University of Maine, and he is also a graduate of the University of Maine Innovation Engineering Program.

As Co-founder and CEO of Revolution Research Inc., Dr. Yildirim has received grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Maine Technology Institute (MTI) for development of eco-friendly, nanocellulose-based, innovative green products. 

Simin Khosravani, MBA

Director of Business Development

Simin received an MBA degree from The University of Maine in 2007, following her undergraduate studies in Management at Husson University.

Simin has background and interest in strategic planning and management in particular working with start-up companies. She has also worked as Commercial Loan Underwriter and Credit Analysist at Bangor Savings Bank as an intern for a year. She also has several years of work experience as a Sale’s Rep and Customer Service Representative in the tech sector.

Duygu Yildirim, MSSc

Administrative Specialist

Duygu is Revolution Research Inc.’s Administrative and Marketing Associate.

She holds a Master of Social Science in Sports Marketing and she is responsible for financial and executive management of RRI. She is also responsible for conducting market and customer research to support RRI’s current and future research projects.

Fidel Odunze

Researcher

Fidel Odunze obtained his bachelor degree in Construction Engineering Technology with a minor in Engineering Entrepreneur from the University of Maine.

Fidel is an analytical, and technical engineer with hands-on construction logistics and safety experience and a background in research and production development of bio-based and eco-friendly construction materials.

William West

Researcher

William West is a Senior at the University of Maine in the Mechanical Engineering Department.

Upon Graduation Will is planning to pursue a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Will’s interests include numerical methods and simulations with applications to Solid and Fluid Mechanics. When he is not doing course work Will is very involved with research at RRI.  His tasks include preparing and manufacturing samples, and preforming Mechanical Testing.
